Why Choose Phuket For Your Vacation And Where Should You Stay?
I have been arranging tailor-made holidays to Phuket Thailand for high-end clients for over 20 years. Although I have retired from the travel industry I have not lost my love of this, the first Thai island that I ever visited.
Yes, there have been many changes in Phuket tourism since I was first there in May 1982. Who would have thought then there would be a Tescos (the UK supermarket giant) on the island? But as I hope you will discover from this web site, there is still much to attract you.
At the very least there is the beauty of the island’s jungle-clad mountains and the stunning limestone outcrops in Phang Nga Bay. You also have a great choice of accommodation with probably some of the best of Thailand hotels and resorts plus boutique hotels and villas. I will share with you my professional comments on many of these.
In general I recommend all of the hotels on this site, but of course we are all different (fortunately) so not everyone is necessarily right for you. To help you choose I will give you my honest comments, good and bad.
By the way, you will not find any hotels on this site at Patong Beach. It is a great place to visit, for shopping or dining, but in my opinion it is far too busy to stay.
My name is Tony Champion and there is a personal angle to this site too because I have also enjoyed family vacations on the island with my wife Sandra and teenage-son Alex. They are particularly keen on the luxury hotels. Personally I am a biased toward the ‘boutique’. Guess who wins!
This site will continue to grow as I add to it: please bookmark me, subscribe to my RSS feed or sign-up for my newsletter.
