Phuket Airport is Thailand's second largest

Phuket Airport, or Phuket International Airport to give it its official title, is one of the country’s major gateways and, apart from indirect flights via Bangkok, the airport receives services direct from Asia, Europe and Australia.

Phuket International Airport is located right on the north west coast of Phuket around 32km (19 miles) from Phuket Town. The IATA Airport code is HKT.

With one modern Passenger Terminal, in terms of numbers handled, this is Thailand’s second largest after Bangkok. Operated by the Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, the airport handles around 3 million passengers a year with the capacity for 10 flights every hour.

Facilities at Phuket Airport include restaurants and Duty Free shops.

If you need any information or assistance at the airport there are Airport Information Counters located on the 1st floor of the arrival and departure hall.

In the arrival hall, you can find a choice of transportation including limousines, taxis, car rentals and microbuses. If you are travelling as part of a package tour you can also contact your transport provider here.

The airport is connected to Phuket Town by Thep Kasatri Road which also travels northwards to the mainland.
