AnswerIn a nutshell Villa Royale sounds the better bet in terms of your requirements from the location. Laguna Phuket, of which Dusit Laguna is a part, is a tourist enclave. There are a few local 'restaurants' on the beach where you can get good food cheaply but there are no other local restaurants within easy walking distance. A short (around 5 minutes) taxi ride will however bring you to a small community with restaurants. Villa Royale on the other hand is adjacent to Kata Beach which has a village-like set-up. Kata Beach is one of the 3 main beaches (Patong and Karon being the other two) along this part of the West coast. You will easily find local transport here. I hope this helps.
