Although in a secluded setting Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort is close to Patong
From the sheltered beach of Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort to shops, bars and restaurants in around 10 minutes. I suppose for me this is the key benefit of this hotel. You can stay in a good quality hotel but still be close to a wide range of outside facilities. I have to be honest though: this is my least favorite of the hotels on this site. I will try to remain objective but at least you know. The setting is good. Built over 6 levels the hotel follows the contour of the bay with all rooms facing on to gardens or towards the sea. As you can see from the picture below, the property nestles amongst green vegetation.

Although no beaches in Thailand are private, the hotel has its beach to itself and so is in effect private. In addition to beach bathing, guests have use of 2 good-sized freshwater pools and there is a separate one for children. Incidentally there is also a children’s club for kids up to age 12. Other facilities include: windsurfing, catamaran, sailing and rowing/canoeing, 4 tennis courts, squash, mini-golf, fitness centre and spa. There is a good selection of restaurants including sea food, Japanese, Thai and of course international.
The hotel has 470 rooms and there are 4 room types from which to choose: Superior Garden; Superior Pool View (pictured); Deluxe Ocean View; and Superior Suite.

Although, for my taste, the hotel is too big and claustrophobic, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort is on a good beach, it has a great range of facilities for young families and it’s close to the shops, bars and restaurants of Patong.
