My Favorite Phuket Accommodation

I suppose I have been spoilt over the years having stayed in so many different kinds of Phuket accommodation. With a career spanning 25 years in the travel industry, as you can imagine, I have seen the inside of a lot of hotels in Phuket, in Thailand and in fact the whole of South East Asia. It was a tough job but...!

As a professional I learnt to look at the hotels less through my eyes and more as if I were a client. Hotel choice is such a personal thing: what one person likes, another will hate.

One minute I might view a hotel as if I were on honeymoon, or celebrating a special occasion like a Wedding Anniversary. The next I would be a family with young children; then a young couple and then a senior couple.

If asked then, which is my favorite, I would have to say - it depends!

The great thing is, Phuket accommodation can be found to suit all kinds of people and circumstances.

The reason I created this web site - apart from generating an income :o) working from home - was because I believed there was a need for information for high-end travelers seeking Phuket accommodation.

There are plenty of sites concentrating on budget accommodation but few, that I have found, devoted exclusively to the high-end in Phuket, Thailand. And those sites that you do find seem to be crowded with advertisements. Personally, I dislike such sites, which is why I have deliberately kept my advertising to a minimum.

Sorry I digressed: back to the point. In my descriptions of the Phuket hotels and resorts on this site I have given an indication of the people that I think they will appeal to most. You will of course have to take a sounding from other sources and one I particularly like is TripAdvisor . This is a site where visitors can post their personal opinions about Phuket accommodation. Being a cynic I don't take everything at face value and I try to read between the lines. You will sometimes find that posts are bias, with a vested interest.

I have no vested interest in any particular accommodation on this site. My only bias is personal taste; and if you are going to twist my arm up my back and get me to tell you my own favorite Phuket accommodation I would have to say it is The Chedi Phuket . There, I have said it.

The reason being, it is low-rise, rustic, right on the beach, all rooms have a view, it is relatively small and very good quality. But if I were to go to Phuket with my family it would be completely the wrong choice. No water slide for my son and my wife dislikes rustic!

You see how difficult it is having a favorite? Which is why I always say - it depends. Which brings me back to the purpose of this site: my aim is to help you make an informed choice about Phuket accommodation according to your own personal taste and circumstance. I would love to have your feedback about how well I am doing.
