Phuket International Hospital was the first private hospital in the area

Today the 100+ bed Phuket International Hospital provides a wide range of therapeutic and diagnostic services.

In addition to 24/7 Emergency cover the hospital’s services include: the diagnosis and treatment relief from allergy symptoms (for both adults and children); cardiology; dental care; eye surgery; hair restoration and Plastic Surgery.

I understand that the hospital has recently started the construction of a new Baht 320 million building which should double its capacity.

In addition to its modern facilities the hospital also offers traditional treatments. These treatments include the use of traditional Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, massage, and the use of suction cups, called cupping in conjunction with internal herbal therapy.

There is a choice of patient’s accommodation: there is an international ward and there are private rooms with en-suite, phone, television and views over the landscaped gardens. All rooms are air-conditioned. On their website the hospital states that “Hospital room types are generally assigned based upon your request, your insurance limitations and the type of care your doctor recommends.” And this brings me to a very important point:
